Tourist and Leisure Companion Sticker (TLCS)
For people With a Disability in Montreal
Companion Free
The companion sticker permits the companion of a person with a disability free entry to tourist, cultural or recreational sites. The sticker is meant for people having a permanent disability. Therefore, it does not apply, for example, to people who, after an operation find themselves temporarily in need of a companion.
The companion
A companion is a person whose presence in an activity is justified by the support and help which he/she exclusively brings to one or many persons with a disability. This type of assistance is not normally required for the majority of the population in the realization of an activity.
The program
When a person is accredited, he/she will receive a sticker which he/she must stick on an identification card preferably with a photo. This sticker will have to be presented at box offices of tourist or recreation sites that he/she will visit. The person with a disability will have to pay the usual admission fee. Free access will only be granted to his/her companion.
This sticker is intended for people 12 years old and over, seeing that all children under 12 years old normally require a companion or a parent for outings.
However, it is possible that there may be certain exceptions, depending on the severity of the disability.
Accreditation organizations
Certain organizations validate the need for a companion for a person with a disability. These organizations are chosen for their knowledge of the needs of the latter and the support that they provide.
